Movement Medicine is an invitation to wake up, release our selves from the ego's clutches and beliefs, and allow the soul's authority to take over the leadership of our lives. By daring to dance in the shadow lands, we will find the power to overcome our fear. The nature of the shadow is that it is hidden in what we do not own. The shadow feeds on the original fear that led us to adopt the stance of the ego in order to survive. It contains a lot of vital life energy that can grow in the corridors of denial until it emerges into our lives and our world in destructive ways.

Dancing with the Devil is a sacred, safe and challenging environment in which to illuminate and integrate the energy of the shadow and release the power it has had over us back into the light. With the support of a strong movement practice and a strong community, we will create the internal space and energy to be able to ‘see in the dark.’ We will then invite our Devils into the dance, one by one, culminating with a Ritual Theatre Shadow Ceremony on Saturday night. Behind each Devil, there is a pearl of hard won wisdom. Dancing in the shadows brings another level of grounding to our practice. Ultimately, we will stand rooted, fluid and at home at the centre of our own circle, transparent and unashamed. You will need your kindness, courage and a sense of humour for this intense shamanic journey.
