JHB Mesa – A Movement Medicine Shamanic Journey
Developing Authentic Connection to Self and the World Around You
A Movement Medicine Shamanic Journey with Ya’Acov Darling Khan
In the shamanic world, a mesa (the Spanish for table) is the protected and intentional field of energy in which the shaman works. It is made up of their lineage, their spirits and the momentum of years of repetition in practice.
In Movement Medicine, m.e.s.a., meaning the movement energetics of spatial awareness, is one of our foundational methods. It teaches us how to re-claim the territory of the body, and how to stay connected to it as we expand into relationship with the world around us.
In this workshop, we will work with the archetype of the inner shaman to awaken the dynamic and creative presence of the inner dancer. The dancer lives in your bones and knows how to accept, shape and bring your present moment condition into movement. With the help of the elements, you will discover the embodied power inside you to acknowledge what is true and move into new ground.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- have a deeper sense of what it means to stay connected to yourself as you come into connection with others and the world around you
- have deepened your connection to the powers of nature through the elements
- have a simple practice to take away with you to deepen this capacity for authentic connection in your day-to-day life.
A genuine, embodied, hearty connection with yourself is good ground to stand on. It will give you more resilience and help you to dance with what life brings from a more resourced, empowered and creative place.
Whatever shape, state or place you are in, you are welcome to come and dance for your life!
