ABOUT THE EVENT:
As the summer solstice approaches, it is a time to allow ourselves to expand our capacity to shine and extend our gratitude towards life. At the same time, there is, as the great man said: ‘so much trouble in the world.’
The intention for this ceremony is to support us all to stand up for who we are and what we believe in. The ceremony is a celebration of life, and a deep opportunity to heal, to resource yourself and to embody your prayers for yourself, others, and the community of life itself. It’s a time to remember our ancestors and reach out towards our collective descendants to experience the evolution of life across the great arc of time. Our intention is to find refuge in the felt presence of the Great Spirit through the body and heart. This is not only deeply nourishing, but it strengthens our capacity to be of service in the world.
We are blessed to welcome some wonderful human beings and medicine people who will drop in and offer us their perspectives and prayers. There will be quiet times and times of deep journeying through the dance.
IN HONOUR OF THE LONG DANCE:
Each year, Ya’Acov and Susannah offer a 72-hour Summer Long Dance ceremony. This year, due to the Covid Pandemic, that won’t be possible. The Long Dance raises significant funds for the Pachamama Alliance which works to bring together environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfilment as three essential strands of change. This event cannot replace the Long Dance. Nothing could. However, this online ceremony will be deep medicine for the participants and supports the clearly stated intention of the Pachamama Alliance to both protect the Amazon and, as the peoples of the forest asked, to work full-heartedly to change the dream of the modern world. Our intention is to raise the roof on what’s possible and raise £50,000 for the Alliance. You in?
As a result of current events catalysed by the murder of George Floyd, we and our friends at the Pachamama Alliance have decided to contribute 50% of what this event raises to Black Lives Matter in the USA. Please join us and let’s stand up together and say NO! to racism and Yes! to change.
Tickets are £9 to the public which is to cover direct costs. It’s free for you as a hub member. Any surplus from these ticket sales will go towards the Pachamama Alliance.
JUST GIVING: Each participant is invited to raise funds to protect the forest. Even if you cannot be there, you can be part of lifting up this prayer for life on earth by supporting one of the dancers or by donating. When we get to $14,000 it will be matched. See the “Just Giving” scale below and help us get there!
Tell your friends. Feel free to share this event with your friends and family who aren’t members of the hub, all are welcome! Direct non-members to this page for more information.
Let’s make this a real ceremony, one that brings medicine through embodied, dancing prayer and makes a practical difference through supporting the work of the Pachamama Alliance and Black Lives Matter to create a human presence here on earth that is socially just, environmentally sustainable and spiritually fulfilling for all.
We hope to see you there!
