Vulnerability and Power in the Shaman’s World
A Talk by Ya’Acov Darling Khan at Hay House’s I Can Do It!
We are living in unprecedented times of great possibility for us as human beings to live lives of such deep meaning and purpose. The earth is crying out for empowered human beings connected to their hearts to stand up for the sanctity of life. It takes a huge investment to ‘grow’ a mature human being – someone who is living in the everyday recognition of what they are being given by life; a human being who is overflowing with gratitude and joyfully inhabits the living prayer of reciprocity, giving back to life with everything they’ve got.
Sadly, many people in the spiritual world make a big split between the light and the dark. In shamanism, the dark is the power of the earth and relates to our ability to bring our dreams into manifestation. The light is the power of the sun, the power that illuminates our hearts, who we are and what we are here for.
In the shaman’s world, bringing our dreams to earth is a dance of light and dark, an alchemical blend of power and vulnerability. In order to make any positive impact in this world, there is a necessity to purify our relationship to power and vulnerability so that we can know deep in our hearts who we are and what we are here for. Power without domination and vulnerability without self-pity is the magical blend for soulful living. In this inspiring and challenging talk, Ya’Acov will talk about power and vulnerability as the twin keys for taking our place as empowered, creative and conscious human beings whose intention is to make as much positive impact in the world as we possibly can.
